LakeMaster

Description

The LakeMaster is an easy-to-build flying boat, and an ideal entry model for those wanting to start wet flying. For those modelers we also recommend reading Ivan’s article, “Flying from water. Great fun!“, linked here, as well as on his web site.
The LakeMaster is a reduced and simplified version of Ivan’s earlier Seagull, a fantastic model for over 20 years, including an estimated 13,000-plus water landings. The LakeMaster makes use of today’s smaller and lighter power and control systems, while still offering great performance. It is very convenient for transportation, even when assembled and ready to fly. The flying boat configuration is very stable when taxiing in windy conditions, and its flat bottom hull makes it easy to take off and land on a grass field. The LakeMaster is also fully aerobatic, for more fun than just flying around in circles. The rudder extension acts as a very effective water rudder, while remaining protected by the sub fin, and the long nose and hatch allow battery changes without removing the wing (August 2015).
